How can they call on the
one they have not believed in?
As believers, our duty to evangelize is unmistakably clear.
We are to proclaim the good news of Jesus's death and resurrection
to anyone and everyone. Most Italians, like most Americans, are not
unfamiliar with the name "Jesus Christ." Yet like Americans
they are often casual or indifferent toward the message of Christ's
salvation. This spiritual void creates a difficult landscape for the
work of evangelizing mission teams.
How can they believe in the
one of whom they have not heard?
Saints Equipped to Evangelize provides the opportunity to be involved
firsthand on the mission field for brief but intense time periods.
Mission teams are normally scheduled for three weeks of ministry,
twice throughout the summer. The work depends greatly on the help
of local evangelical churches, which provide a network of Christian
interpreters, witness teams, host families, cooks and pastors. Working
with local churches also allows our missionaries to follow-up on new
converts in their own communities. By returning to many of the same
areas year after year, we hope to make a vital difference by sharing
the Good News.
